The ground blind, maximum concealment
The ground blind is a hunting tent that fully hides your movements. Ideal where the terrain doesn't allow a tower stand, it shines for bowhunting and for the wary Wild turkey.
Key advantages
- Breaks your outline: inside, your movements (drawing a bow, shouldering) go unnoticed.
- Contains part of your scent and shelters you from wind and rain.
- Mobile: move it as game shifts from day to day.
Setting it up
- Pitch it a few days ahead if possible so game gets used to it.
- Back it against vegetation (cedars, brush) to avoid the "box in the open field" look.
- Open only the windows you need for your shooting lanes.
- Wear black inside: the dark backdrop makes you invisible behind the openings.
Limits
- Narrower field of view than a tower stand.
- In a drive, signal your presence for safety; stay visible in orange when arriving and leaving.
A well-hidden blind set up early gets you close to game without being spotted.
